Proximity Care, the "prevention camper" resumes traveling through the municipalities of Garfagnana and the Middle Valley: first stop May 21 in Barga, dates and locations of subsequent Proxy Screening stops
The activity is part of the project promoted by the Sant'Anna School of Pisa and supported by the Fondazione Cassa di Risparmio di Lucca. Invitation letters from the Azienda Usl Toscana nord ovest are on their way with the day and time of the exams indicated. By fall, the screenings will cover all municipalities in the Serchio Valley
As of May 21, the "prevention camper", or the mobile unit of Proxy Screening, the action of the Proximity Care project-proposed by the Sant'Anna School of Pisa and supported by the Fondazione Cassa di Risparmio di Lucca-which has set up a program to perform several screenings "under the house," will be back on the road in Garfagnana and the Middle Valley. After the experimentation carried out in the municipalities of Castelnuovo di Garfagnana, Piazza al Serchio, San Romano, Gallicano and Bagni di Lucca, the system is ready to be extended to the entire Serchio Valley district area, resuming operations in Barga on May 21.
The team of healthcare operators from the Azienda USL Toscana nord ovest will therefore resume activities to cover all municipalities in the Serchio Valley. Screening invitation letters are on their way to citizens who fall under the regional prevention protocols and reside in the municipalities at the center of the screening activity.
The invitation from the Azienda USL Toscana nord ovest gives the address and date to conduct the examinations, at the place closest to one's home. In addition to the screenings provided for in the regional protocol (mammography, pap test - HpV, stool examination), it is possible on an experimental basis to submit spots or skin lesions to the technique of dermatoscopy during the examination.
The schedule of the screening sessions is as follows: Barga, May 21-29; Camporgiano, June 4-7; Villa Collemandina, June 11-12; Sillano, June 13; Minucciano, June 18-20; Vagli, June 25; Careggine, June 26; Molazzana, June 27-28; Coreglia Antelminelli, July 2-16; Fosciandora, July 17-18; Castiglione in Garfagnana, July 23-25. In September, the camper will reach Pieve Fosciana, Fabbriche di Vergemoli, and Borgo a Mozzano according to the schedule that will be announced in the coming weeks.
